Quantum Financial Planning Services, Inc. is a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor. Practically, we get paid in two ways. First, a one-time flat fee for financial planning. Second, as a percentage of assets under management for portfolios that we manage on behalf of our clients.
We do NOT accept any investment commissions. To learn more about how financial advisors get paid, read our blog post.
At Quantum we take a long-term investment perspective. In practice, this means we systematically rebalance portfolios, and manage each client’s portfolio based on objectives and risk to achieve his/her long-term goals while striving to keep investment costs low. We believe that investment performance is attributed to asset allocation over security selection.

Every single one. We don't use templates or cookie-cutter options. Your plan is built around your retirement date, your income needs, your tax picture, and your lifestyle goals.
We run real scenarios — what if you retire two years early? What if one spouse lives to 95? — so you can make decisions with real confidence and numbers.
And, as your life changes through the decades of retirement we will continue to update your financial plan.
We provide robust retirement planning, covering investment management, income planning, Social Security strategy, tax planning, healthcare and Medicare planning, estate planning coordination, and Roth conversion analysis.
We also look at all your specific goals and help you see the impact of those with trade-offs against your retirement plan.
We look at the whole picture of your financial life, not just your investment strategy.
Yes, we do proactive tax planning to look for opportunities to lower your taxes now and in the years ahead.
Taxes are often one of your biggest expenses in retirement so it’s important to do proactive tax planning and it’s a big part of what we do for our clients.
We will review your tax returns annually and build forward-looking strategies — including Roth conversions, tax-efficient withdrawal sequencing, RMD planning, and much more.
Reach out to our team today to see if we can identify opportunities in your specific scenario to reduce your taxes.
Often, clients stay with us for many years. Many of our clients have been with us for 20, 30, even 35+ years — and that's not something we take lightly.
We've built our team with seasoned advisors and younger innovative planners so you will have a team that can grow with you through the decades of retirement.
When life changes — a health event, a spouse passing, an inheritance — our team will be right there with you.
Yes, and understanding when to start claiming Social Security is an important decision to make.
Claiming Social Security at a less than ideal time can be a significant and difficult-to-undo decision for many pre-retirees.
We can model out your specific situation — your health, your spouse's benefits, and your income sources — so you can decide when the ideal time is for you to claim.
It's one of the first things we tackle in every retirement plan.
Financial Planning Questions
Financial planning is a comprehensive process that involves analyzing an individual's financial situation, determining financial goals, and creating a strategy to achieve those goals. This process encompasses various aspects such as budgeting, saving, investing, insurance planning, tax planning, retirement planning, and estate planning. Financial planning is much more than investing. It provides comfort knowing how to prepare for the future and adapting to various life stages.
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification is the standard of excellence in financial planning. CFP® professionals meet rigorous education, training and ethical standards, and are committed to serving their clients' best interests today to prepare them for a more secure tomorrow.

The financial planning process helps identify what goals can realistically be achieved given your resources. Having a financial plan can also help identify what is being overlooked and prepare you to mitigate future risks. Ideally, it helps outline goals and sets you on the trajectory to achieve those goals.
A financial plan is a snapshot of where you are financially and where you want to go, along with the steps you intend to take to get there. Financial planning is a broader, ongoing process that extends beyond the creation of a financial plan. It involves the systematic analysis of an individual's entire financial situation, including their goals, assets, liabilities, income, expenses, and risk tolerance. Financial planning encompasses not only the development of a financial plan but also the implementation of that plan, regular monitoring and adjustments as needed, and ongoing guidance and support from a qualified financial professional. Our process organizes your financial life, allowing you to make confident and informed financial decisions.
A financial planner helps you outline your financial goals while employing strategies to reach those goals. Working with a CFP® ensures a strategic and custom plan built around your personal circumstances. Their advice goes far beyond your investment portfolio and addresses various aspects of your financial future. In the long run, working with a financial planner can save money and help you retire earlier.
